Apple Bank for Savings is currently offering 5.26% APY CDs on 1 year, 2 year, and 5 year CDs. Minimum deposit on these certificates is $500.
These certificates are open to people in any state. The only drawback to these CDs is that they must be opened through mail. You have to contact Apple Bank for the application, which will be mailed to you.

Indymac Bank has a 5.40% APY rate on their 3 month certificate. This is the best CD rate for this maturity. They also have a great deal on their 9 month CD, with a 5.50% APY. These rates are fairly high especially given the Fed’s continual rate cuts.

Eloan.com used to have some of the highest CD rates available on the internet. With the fed’s recent rate cut, most banks have lowered their savings and CD rates, and Eloan is no exception. However, some of their rates are still quite competitive, with 5.25% for their 3 month CD, and 5.15% for their 6 year CD. Most of the rates for other maturity terms are 5.05%. Their savings account is also quite competitive at 5.00% APY.

Fremont Bank is offering 5.10% APY on their internet certificate of deposits. Their 4 month CD is at 5.00% APY. Minimum deposit on these certificates is $2,500, and maximum deposit is $500,000.

Fremont Bank is a local bank that is located in Fremont, California. Their online CD rates are better than their regular certificate of deposit rates, which range anywhere from a low 2.00% APY to 4.25% APY, depending on the deposit and maturity term.

Bank of Internet has some fairly competitive CD rates available at the moment. They used to offer a yield of 5.47% APY on CDs from 24 to 29 months and 36 to 47 months, but with the recent interest rate cut their rates have dropped a bit. BofI is one of the oldest online-only banks. In addition to it’s CDs, it also has some nice checking accounts, especially for seniors, with a rate of 3.75%. There are no minimum balance requirements or monthly fees. It offers free checks and ATM reimbursements of up to $8/month.
